Pay Monthly HOA Dues

Dear Homeowners,
We are pleased to share that the long-standing water leak at 12200 South Tryon Street has finally been resolved.
After several years of reports and follow-up with various City departments, the source of the leak was identified and repaired.
The problem turned out to be a damaged pipe connected to the original water meter that once served the home previously located on what is now the pond side of Mosby. Although the leak did not affect our community’s water usage, it resulted in a continuous loss of water for the City of Charlotte.
The City determined that the damage dates back to 2016, when fiber optic lines were installed along South Tryon Street and the water line was accidentally struck during construction. Because the water was not part of our community’s water system, the issue was repeatedly believed to be a natural spring or groundwater, making it difficult to identify the true source.
We want our homeowners to know that this issue was never ignored. Both the past and current HOA Boards worked diligently over several years by contacting various City departments and requesting inspections.
This past Sunday evening, we reached out to our City Council representative, Joi Mayo. Council Member Mayo responded within 15 minutes and immediately began working to help move the issue forward. Just four days later, the source of the leak was identified and repaired. We sincerely appreciate Council Member Mayo’s responsiveness and commitment to helping our community reach a resolution.
We have been asked to keep an eye on the area over the next few weeks now that the source of the leak has been repaired. As the ground dries, we expect the area to gradually firm up and return to normal. Once it is dry enough, our landscaping contractor will be able to resume mowing and maintaining that section.
Thank you to everyone for your patience throughout this process. It took persistence from many people over several years, but we are grateful to finally see this long-standing issue resolved.

Update July 11, 2026 - An order for sidewalk cleanup was submitted to the CDOT. It's currently in the status of NEW. I will update when the status changes.
July 10, 2026 We wanted to provide an update on the ongoing water leak near our community.
This issue has been reported to the City water department numerous times over the past two years. Our most recent call was made at the end of June. As of today, we have again been told that it may be “ just ground water from a natural spring” and that no action will be taken.
While the leak affects the appearance of our community, it is important for homeowners to know that the source is outside our community boundaries on property owned by the City. Because the land is not HOA property, we cannot legally dig, repair, or alter the area ourselves.
We remain concerned that, if left unaddressed, the constant flow of water could eventually become an environmental concern. Unfortunately, after contacting both the City’s Storm Water and Water departments multiple times, neither department has accepted responsibility, and we have reached a dead end.
If anyone has experience working with the City on an issue like this, knows of another department that may have jurisdiction, or has a contact who may be able to help move this forward, we would greatly appreciate your suggestions.
